Then you realize there are 16 different Porsche 911 models (and that’s just new models) and you are starting to reconsider your decision entirely. Don’t worry, it’ll be ok. All of the different Porsche models can seem a bit intimidating at first, but if you look at them from a broader scope, they will become quite a bit easier to understand.

Test Drive Your Top Picks
Once you have decided on one, or two, or even three Porsche models that you like best, the next step is going to be to set up a test drive. Make Sure the Vehicle is Good to Go
If you are purchasing a new Porsche, this may not be as worrisome to you, but if your are purchasing a pre-owned Porsche for the first time you are going to want to do a bit more fact checking before signing on the dotted line. This isn’t like buying a Honda Accord where the vehicle can run for 15,000 miles without an oil change. Porsche vehicles need to be routinely serviced so that they can maintain their high performance standards. The last thing you want to have happen is you drive away after just dropping a large sum of cash on a new Porsche and the check engine light comes on.
That is why we suggest you complete the following before finalizing any deal:
- Check the vehicle’s previous ownership. If there have been multiple, multiple owners, it could be tell tail sign of a poor running vehicle.
- Ask for maintenance and service records. As we said before, Porsche vehicles must be routinely maintained in order to continue to run properly! Don’t drive a vehicle off the lot if you don’t see that it has been routinely serviced first.
- Ask for a Pre Purchase Inspection (PPI). This inspection will go point-by-point through the vehicle to make sure each important aspect of the vehicle from the engine to air conditioning is running properly.
